Project Purr's Feral Cat Spay/Neuter Program

Project Purr has provided a spay/neuter veterinary package for feral cats/kittens to all residents of Santa Cruz County, regardless of income. Kitties must be at least 4 months (about 4 pounds).

Overview

This program is available year round to residents of Santa Cruz County regardless of income. It is only for feral/unsocial cats and is free for each cat or kitten. Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter has a low-cost spay/neuter program for domestic cats.

About the Program

  • Must show proof of living within Santa Cruz County (includes all cities)

  • Cats must be brought to clinic in traps

  • Kittens must be 4 months old

  • FVRCP/Rabies vaccines and parasite control are included

  • Cats/kittens are given a mandatory eartip identifying them as fixed

> Please call BEFORE you trap to ensure surgery space is available. If you fail to trap the cat, please call to reschedule.

> Drop off cats in individual traps Monday-Friday between 7:30am - 8:30am. Cats must arrive before 8:30am! Pick up before 6pm on the same day.

Drop off cats in individual traps before 10am (Clinic open 6pm - midnight for emergencies ONLY)

> Pick up male cats before closing on the same day

> Female cats MUST stay overnight (no charge).

Call the day after surgery after 10am to arrange pickup time.
